Retirement
- Thai retirement visathailand · 1 year, renewable in-country · insurance ฿3,000,000
- SRRVphilippines · Indefinite while the deposit is maintained
- MM2Hmalaysia · Silver 5 years renewable; Gold 15 years renewable; Platinum 20 years renewable; SEZ/SFZ 10 years renewable. In every case the pass validity is capped by the validity of the participant's passport, and a new passport means renewing the security sticker. · insurance required
- Sarawak MM2Hmalaysia · Ten years in practice, issued as 5 + 5: an initial five-year multiple-entry social visit pass, then an extension covering years 6–10 granted on passport validity and a fresh RB II medical report. Continuing beyond ten years means filing a new application, submitted six months before expiry. · insurance required
Investment and residence
- LTRthailand · 10 years · insurance $50,000
Employer-sponsored work
- Non-B visathailand · 3 months (single entry) or 1 year (multiple entry); a 3-year multiple-entry version is issued for 10,000 Baht
- TRCvietnam · Depends entirely on the card symbol: ĐT1 up to 10 years; NG3, LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT2 and DH up to 5 years; NN1, NN2, ĐT3 and TT up to 3 years; LĐ1, LĐ2 and PV1 up to 2 years. Since 1 July 2026 the new UĐ1 and UĐ2 cards also run up to 10 years. Every card must be at least 30 days shorter than the remaining validity of your passport, so a passport with 18 months left caps even a 10-year entitlement at about 17 months.
- 9G work visaphilippines · Maximum three years, or co-terminus with the AEP issued by DOLE, whichever is shorter. Because the AEP is issued "for a period of one (1) year, unless the employment contract, or other modes of engagement provides otherwise, which in no case shall exceed three (3) years," a one-year visa is the common outcome. BI sells the conversion in one-, two- and three-year bands.
- Cambodia business visa / EB visacambodia · Indefinite — the ordinary visa can be extended for one month, three months, six months or one year, repeatedly, with no cap on renewals
- Taiwan Gold Cardtaiwan · 1, 2 or 3 years, chosen by the applicant at the time of application
- ONE Passsingapore · Up to 5 years for first-time candidates and up to 5 years on each subsequent renewal, renewable indefinitely while the renewal criteria are met.
Family and marriage
- Thai marriage visathailand · Indefinite in practice — the one-year extension is renewable each year while the marriage remains genuine in law and in fact and the money test is still met
- 13A visa / Philippines marriage visaphilippines · One (1) year probationary, then permanent once amended. ExpatDen reports that permanent 13(a) holders renew the ACR I-Card only once every five years.
Study
- ED visa / Thai language school visathailand · Visa valid 90 days from issuance and must be used within that period; length of stay after entry depends on extensions granted by the Immigration Bureau.

- Vietnam 90-day e-visavietnam · 90 days
- C1 visa (still widely sold as "B211A")indonesia · Visa must be used to enter within 90 days of issue; the stay permit can be extended in-country up to a maximum of 180 days total
