Does the Thailand LTR visa require health insurance?

By Asia Visa Guide editors · Last verified · draft record, see note

Yes. The Thailand LTR visa requires health insurance, with minimum cover of $50,000, and the policy has to meet specific conditions.

Health insurance of at least USD 50,000 in coverage.

A deposit of USD 100,000 may be used in place of insurance.

A policy can meet the headline number and still fail at the desk if it does not cover the things the rule names or cannot produce the document the rule asks for. Ask the insurer in writing whether it issues the certificate your route needs before you buy.
